Playtomic, the world’s largest padel and racket sports network, used Embeddable to upgrade and modernise an existing analytics experience they had built in-house. They wanted to enable their customers to monitor and understand their daily business, opportunities and who their power users or 'key players' were.
One of the core goals of the project was to have a better foundation for delivering value to its users at speed without relying so heavily on engineering to make changes.
Before Embeddable, Playtomic’s previous setup had been built in-house with ChartJS. But as the product matured, the team wanted an approach that would give them more flexibility, reduce implementation friction, and support a stronger end-user experience.
When evaluating options, Playtomic focused on three priorities:
Those criteria speak to a focus on product quality. They wanted an analytics experience that felt like a natural part of their product, while also ensuring end users got a fast, seamless experience.
Playtomic considered a range of alternatives, including Looker, Metabase and even a rebuild in-house. But Embeddable stood out not only for the product itself, but for the way the team worked with them during the process. As Marco puts it,
“The team was open to receive feedbacks and iterate on an already solid product to cater for some key requests”.
That collaborative experience clearly mattered in practice, too. In Marco’s words,
“It’s very easy to work with Embeddable because the tech itself is extremely easy to manage, but most of all customer support is the real key. Kudos to all the team interacting with us”.
For Playtomic, the impact of Embeddable went beyond improving the customer-facing analytics experience. The project also helped reshape how analytics gets built and owned internally.
One of the main motivations for replacing the old solution was operational. As Marco explains,
"We wanted to speed up development, removing FE/BE involvement and assigning ownership to Data and BI”.
Embeddable helped move analytics delivery away from a heavier engineering-dependent model and toward a setup where the teams closest to the data could take greater ownership. That internal change translated into meaningful business results. As Marco summarises,
“It helped us change internal ownership, dramatically reducing time to market and opening up new possibilities”.
Overall, Playtomic’s story is one of moving from a custom-built analytics setup to a faster, more scalable model. With Embeddable, they were able to deliver live analytics for customers while also simplifying internal workflows, accelerating delivery, and creating more room for the business to evolve.
